PERFORMING ARTS WORKSHOP
We pride ourselves at Performing Arts Workshop on creating a safe, inclusive, empowering environment for everyone from the dance appreciator to the professional dancer to learn the art of dance. P.A.W. enables each student to reach his or her full potential through hard work, encouragement, discipline, individual focus, dance education, correct technical training, creativity, and artistry.
"My daughter loves her classes, teachers and dance friends!!! PAW creates a community for the kids that my daughter wants to be a part of. As parents we see dedication and hard work with great shows and some fun dance parties. Her ballet style shines through into her school work and family life."
"I have taken adult classes here 15+ years and my daughter has been here 8 years (since age 5). I have been to many dance studios and believe that studio culture is as important as the skill of the teaching staff, and I give five stars to both."
"I am a former professional dancer and I can attest to the top notch training that takes place in this studio. The adult ballet classes focus on technique and alignment and the vibe is warm and relaxed."
FIRST FRIDAYS is an ongoing event on the first Friday of every month at Performing Arts Workshop celebrating artists in the North County and greater San Diego areas. Join us for local talented visual artists, dancers, and musicians. Adult beverages are available by donation. For this month's lineup and more up to date details about the event, visit our Facebook page by clicking HERE.
PAW hosts several different organizations within its walls. The Junior Ballet Ensemble, a not-for-profit organization, offers dance outreach to San Diego and North County since 1998. Dancers Level 3 and up are eligible to participate in this wonderful community building organization.
We are thrilled to host isadoraNOW, our Company In Residence at the studio. Artistic Director Elyssa Dru Rosenberg (on faculty) fuses contemporary dance with historical preservation. Through classes, workshops, lectures, and performance, isadoraNOW uses dance history to help people better understand, appreciate, and relate to the art of dance.
PAW also offers, MIRACLE MOVERS, a special needs dance class starting in April 2016. Classes are suitable for students with PDD’s (aspergers, autism, CDD), social anxieties and physical disabilities and include creative movement therapy and spatial awareness dancesset to a variety of music using props and games to increase the mind-body connection.
