PERFORMING ARTS WORKSHOP
Ladies Empowered in Art and Dance
July 24th - 28th 11:00am - 4:00pm with Informal Performances 3:00 - 4:00pm Friday July 28th
This intensive is open to all young women ages 9 - 13 and ambassador positions are open to ages 13 - 18. LEAD is a fun and empowering week-long workshop for girls ages 9 - 13.
During this intensive and enlivening week, we will focus on self-confidence, self-knowledge, self-expression, positive body image, nutrition, and self defense. Girls will be encouraged to find their authentic voices and awaken and share their inner super-power in a nurturing and supportive environment. Participants will be guided to utilize the tools they learn to be a force for good and strength in our world. Daily workshop session will incorporate elements of movement and dance led by Elyssa Rosenberg of isadoraNOW and Children's Seaside Dance Ensemble and will culminate in a collaborative and inspiring, multi-disciplinary performance.
**** PAW enrolled students only: if you plan on continuing to take classes during the month that you attend an intensive, your tuition will be pro-rated. e-mail us or see the front desk for more info. If your technique class is not being offered during a week of intensive, you may attend intensive class during that day and by exception from Miss Emily, adult class. ****
LEVEL 4/5 TECHNIQUE INTENSIVE
August 7th - 11th and August 14th - 18th
11:00am - 4:00pm with Informal Performances 3:00 - 4:00pm Friday the 11th and 18th
Students will take daily technique class followed by dance history, the study of a particular ballet, modern or character, and variations. Classes will be taught by MR. Zuri, Miss Catharine, and Miss Emily with the occasional sub in technique. Modern and Character faculty to be announced.
LEVEL 3 TECHNIQUE INTENSIVE
July 3rd - 7th and July 10th - 14th
11:00am - 4:00pm with Informal Performances 3:00 - 4:00pm Friday the 7th and 14th
Students will take daily technique class followed by dance history, the study of a particular ballet, and variations. Classes will be taught by Miss Emily with the occasional sub in technique.

Informal Performance 3:00 - 4:00pm Friday the 4th
Students will take daily technique class followed by improvisation, movement invention, exercises in using time and space, and a rehearsal lab. Each week we will create their own pieces and a group piece for the Friday informal showing. Classes will be taught by Miss Emily who received her BFA in Dance Making from Columbia College Chicago and has spent her life making, learning about, and watching dances.
